Classroom Hijinks Filmmaking & Video Production Camp

Mon-Fri, Aug 12-16 | 10 am-3 pm

Join this creative camp to collaborate on an original short film! Through a fun process of games and exercises, work on storytelling, character development, and story arc, and learn the whole process of pre-production, production, and post-production. Explore being behind the camera shooting scenes, and in front of the camera as actors. Try art direction, styling, scenography, work on props, background, and costumes, and even sound and editing. You will have access to costumes and props (including fabulous and outrageous handmade masks) to develop your own character, and together we figure out the conflicts, climax and resolution. The crucible of the classroom serves as a microcosm of society—take your character to the extreme and see what happens as we explore power structures, relationships and absurdity. Camp will culminate in a screening for family and friends, complete with film posters and popcorn!
