Join us for this outdoor camp with COVID-safe protocols in place. Explore a different crazy creature each day: an octopus, a dragon, a crocodile, even an imaginary pet of your own creation! Students will use a variety of materials including oil pastel and paper cut-outs to explore each creature in the collage method of fabulous illustrator, Eric Carle. Creating Crazy Creatures isn’t just about exploring art—this wonderful book-making process will connect students with friends, as they share fun stories and experiences with one another. Creative breaks for RUNNING + JUMPING around the Blue Heron Backyard. At the end of the week, students will have their own illustrated book of crazy creatures to share with family and friends.

Our Daily Schedule:

Wash-in at our welcome station--complete with gel sanitizer and name tags; we'll help students to find their chairs, a place to stow materials and snacks, and enjoy some conversation and get-to-know-you activities.

Create and play; a new crazy creature each day with dedicated materials for each student; materials will be pieced out and set aside just for them (with enough extra for “oops” moments)!

Finish up in our gathering circle for hopes and aspirations over the day to come!

We'll see parents at our welcome station for dismissal and any directions--students will wait for parents to arrive before being dismissed one at a time.
