Do you love photography? Do you want to take even better photographs? How about participating in a juried photography show with friends? Join our first-ever, online-edition of Crazy About Photography Camp!
Students will meet online using Zoom to share our work and our jury using Flickr.com. In our live Zoom sessions each day, we will explore camera settings, camera handling and composition. Our focus for the first time will be Vashon-Maury Island, capturing your own sense of our island home—any subject, any place, and as close to home as you like. We will post our photographs, old and brand new, to Flickr.com—and open up our class site to comment and sharing. In the process, you will learn about using Flickr, the best share site for photography—an online resource you’ll use long after camp is through.
Our juried show will be at the VCA Performing Arts Center in October with a First Friday opening and a chance to sell your work. You can use any digital camera, including a phone!
Our Daily Schedule:

We will start each day with a Zoom session for introductions, sharing and lessons/assignments.

After presentations, discussion, and sharing our photography, we’ll break for lunch and assignments.

Instructor Ray will be available for questions during the break-either through text or Zoom. (Students are also encouraged to schedule short, one-on-one chats with Ray during this time.)

Zoom as a group to review the day, share stories and photography and leave with assignments and challenges for the following day (assignments will be posted to a special group just for the camp on Flickr.com).
Materials from home:
*Any digital camera, phone to point and shoot to DSLR to mirrorless
*Styling objects - fruit, especially a watermelon; jewelry; vase; sheets of paper or fabric for a background; plates; cups; drinking glasses; eyeglasses
*Device for Zoom + posting pictures to Flickr
*Opening a Flickr account -- free, easy-to-create before the camp begins
