One of the most important and challenging aspects of acting is developing a strong, believable character. Join this online class to learn techniques that lay the groundwork by exploring the many characters portrayed in Moisés Kaufman's The Laramie Project. Kaufman’s play honors the legacy of Matthew Shepard, a gay student at the University of Wyoming who was beaten, tortured, and left to die on the night of October 6, 1998. Students will build technique by exploring how characters were affected by Matthew Shepherd’s murder and by visiting the Tectonic Theatre belief in "moment work." Class will culminate with an online performance of the play for family, friends and community. Chris Boscia is an actor and director and teacher who worked extensively in NYC and across the country for 30 years. Seattle credits include stints at Seattle Rep, ACT, Intiman, Group Theatre, The Empty Space, Alice B. Theatre, Seattle Public Theatre, and Aha!
