Experiment with a wide range of easily obtained materials to create miniature, hand-held work that is complete, portable, can be constructed and displayed in small spaces and can also be used as the basis for larger work. Make a miniature artist’s book; a mini 3D fantasy scene and very small fabric and bead pieces which can be worn or displayed as art. Students have the option of selling their favorite piece in the Miniature Show at VCA’s Koch Gallery in December! Robyn Smith has an MA in painting from University of Iowa. A long-time professor at Eastern Iowa Community Colleges, she has also taught extensively at museums, community art centers, colleges and high schools in the Pacific Northwest and Midwest. www.robynlsmith.com
