Friday Arts Lab: Connections Around the World

Grades: K-2

Jan 14, 28 | Feb 11 | Mar 4, 18 | Apr 1, 22 | May 6, 20 | June 3 | 1:45-3:45 pm (*classes in March will begin at 12:45 pm and will last 3 hrs each)

What connects us? Students will dive into this question while making self-portraits, sculpting clay animals, creating their own story as a group, making and playing their own instruments, and more. In this active and creative class, explore movement, theatre, and visual art in two- and three-dimension to stretch the imagination and encourage the endless creativity within. We will share stories from writers around the world, both past and present, while we consider our own uniqueness and what we have in common with other humans across the globe.

VCA’s Friday Arts Lab series provides enriching, creative activities on Chautauqua Professional Development Days (PDD). Students take the bus to VCA after school on PDD early release days and pick up is at 3:45 pm. Materials fee includes snack and art supplies. Friday Arts Lab is open to homeschoolers as well.
