This Christmas, the Vashon Island Chorale celebrates the 150th birthday of the English composer Ralph Vaughan Williams. His “Fantasia on Christmas Carols” has been a favorite for over a century, and his less-well-known “Benedicite” provides suitable panache. Amid shorter, seasonally appropriate Vaughan Williams works, we’ll also present music by his two dear friends, Gustav Holst and Gerald Finzi, including the latter’s Christmas scene, “In terra pax.” The Chorale will be joined by a strings orchestra of local players plus soloists Jennifer and Andrew Krikawa.
