Science & Art Series: Forests Illuminated

Ages: 10-Adult (students under 15 please register with an adult)

Sunday, Oct 8 | 1-5 pm  

Tuition: $130 (includes $20 materials fee)

Instructors: Duncan Berry (Nature Printing Master) and Derek Churchill, PhD (Forest Ecologist)

Location: Agren Park and Penny Farcy Building 

Come learn about the inner workings and biodiversity of island forests on a walk with Derek Churchill and then take this inspiration into the studio with Duncan Berry to learn how to make beautiful nature-based art from tree rounds, leaves, mushrooms, ferns, mosses and feathers. Each participant will create 8 to 10 original art prints to take home. All archival inks, papers and necessary printing tools are included, as well as samples of a wide range of Vashon’s trees, ferns, mosses, feathers and other inspiring textures.
